Starbucks Coffee

May 26, 2007

There’s a definite trend going on these days. Never before has coffee been such the rage. Sure, our folks drank cup after cup of Folder’s from their drip pots at home, but it was nothing like this. Now you can take a gander out the window and spot a Starbucks coffee shop on every corner. America and the rest of planet earth can’t seem to get enough iced carmel macchiatos, pumpkin spiced lattes, and brownie frappuccinos. Just saying all that makes me want a grande iced coconut latte right now. Have you had your cup of java today?

Whether you were aware of it or not, Starbucks coffee is a six billion dollar business. They have expanded all over the world. But, that very first Starbuck’s still sits in Seattle, Washington. The rainy city that offers its residents coffee shops galore. It’s doubtful they’ll be running out of espresso any time soon in that city. Now, what I want to know is what makes Starbucks coffee so special. Hmm, I have the answer to this query. Nothing! It’s not that great, in all honesty. I have tried coffee from hundreds of different coffee shops all over, and can state with all honesty that Starbuck’s is certainly not the best, or even in the top five. On the other hand, Starbucks coffee shops do have some strong points. Number one; the coffee is consistent. No matter which Starbuck’s I roll into, I know what my latte will taste like. I like this reassurance. I can’t say the same for every coffee house. Number 2; Starbuck’s is always there. This is the way to get customers and make capital. Having plenty of stores certainly is a plus. And number 3; customer service. Like I said, I’ve been to tons of coffee shops, and overall Starbuck’s offers the best customer service. They must train their employees well, because I’ve routinely received great service. That is a major key to having a successful business.

You’re probably headed out at some point today to grab a Starbucks coffee drink. There’s no shame in this routine. So many people do it, and they generally have a specific beverage in mind. Heck, some of them don’t even have coffee in them. Say hello to the new American craze! It seems to be one that’s sticking around.
